If you’re tired of scraping your skin, looking like a five o’clock shadow by noon, or experiencing razor burn and nicks after shaving, you’re in luck. There are many ways to get a close shave without irritation even if you have sensitive skin! It all starts with these tips for the best shave ever.

Prep Your Face

1. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser, rinse and pat dry.

2. Apply an oil-free moisturizer to soften skin and create a protective barrier between your skin and razor blade.

3. Moisturize any sensitive areas of your face before shaving, especially if you have dry skin or if you have previously had irritated skin after shaving in the area.

4. Use a single blade razor that is appropriate for your hair type.

5. Lather up well on wet skin with a gel or foam to help protect against nicks and cuts while reducing irritation by creating a cushioned surface over which the hair can be shaved off evenly by the single blade.

6. Be sure to follow instructions on how many strokes are needed on each area of your face as well as how often you should replace blades, which is usually every few months for most people but may vary depending on frequency of use and quality of blades being used

Choose The Right Razor

There are many different kinds of razors to choose from, so it’s important to consider what your needs are. Do you want a disposable razor that’s cheap and easy to replace? Do you want a cartridge razor that will last longer? To find out which type is best for you, here’s a rundown of some popular types of razors: Foil shavers – These shavers cut hairs at the base, giving you a close shave in one go. Cartridge razors – Cartridge razors come with multiple blades on each head. The more blades there are, the closer the shave will be Double-edged safety razor – Double-edged safety razors have two blades arranged in opposite directions. One blade holds skin taut while other cuts below skin level

Don’t Skip The shaving Cream

The first thing you should do is to lather up your face with shaving cream. The cream helps to soften your facial hair and create a barrier between your skin and the blade. It also prevents nicks, cuts and razor burn. Try using an unscented variety that is free of oils, perfumes or dyes which can irritate sensitive skin. In a pinch, soap will work as well – just be sure to rinse off any excess before lathering on the cream. Also make sure to use enough cream; you don’t want your razor getting clogged! A quality shaving kit for men typically includes a brush, shaving soap or lotion, aftershave balm, shave bowl and sharp safety razors.
