Do you have thin hair and are looking for a way to take care of it effectively? With the right cosmetics, you don’t have to worry about overloading your hair, you just have to enjoy spectacular results and shiny strands, just like when you left the hair salon.

The PEH balance

Before buying cosmetics, you should be familiar with the three types of ingredients we distinguish when we talk about conscious hair care

  • proteins – fill in loss and damage, a protein deficiency causes lack of volume, dullness and static, this group includes keratin, elastin, silk or wheat proteins, among others;
  • emollients – protect hair against excessive moisture loss, their deficiency causes static electricity and frizz; examples of emollients are oils, butters, silicones, paraffin;
  • humectants – moisturise hair, their deficiency causes dry, dull and frizzy hair, examples include glycerine, aloe vera, hyaluronic acid or urea

In order to repair the condition of your hair and give it more volume, you need to take care of the balance of these three ingredients, and hair treatments the right products for your scalp type will help you fight thin, brittle strands.

Dividing by Porosity

The three types of hair are divided by their porosity. Each of the three hair types has its own rules, here is a brief summary of each

  • low-porous hair – smooth, slippery and straight, but unfortunately it can be very resistant to styling and colouring and is prone to damage;
  • medium-porous hair – straight or wavy, can be styled and colored without any problem
  • highly refined hair – damaged by drying, straightening, etc., often frizzy, curly or wavy, easily damaged.

Low-reductivity hair responds well to moisturizing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, as well as coconut oil, shea butter and plant extracts. Be careful not to overdo it with oils, however, because too much can make your hair lose volume. The same goes for low-porous hair. Proteins are not recommended because they will leave your hair feeling greasy.

Medium Rough hair likes products that contain keratin, silk, silicones, macadamia nut oil and avocado oil. Remember that coconut oil will dry out your hair and cosmetics with a high glycerine content will also have a negative effect on your hair.

Highly porous hair is best nourished by ingredients like collagen, milk and oat proteins, silk, passion fruit oil and silicones. Coconut oil, glycerin, and aloe vera in excess will cause hair to frizz and negatively affect its appearance.

Skin scrubbing

That you should wash your face with micellar fluid every day to get rid of the dust, dirt and cosmetics collected in the middle of the day is obvious. But do we all remember to do the same for our hair? After all, styling products, dirt and sweat build up in the hair. Clogged hair follicles can not only eventually lead to dandruff but also to scalp irritation and hair loss. It is advisable to exfoliate your hair once every 2-3 weeks to get rid of dead skin, sebum and cosmetic residues. Over time, you should notice a significant difference in the volume of your hair.

Argan oil

When looking for cosmetics for dry and flaky scalp, it can be really hard to find the right one. There are many options but quite a few treatments do not work hard enough. The right cosmetic for this type of scalp must not only moisturize it. It must also have protective, drying-reducing and scalp-boosting properties. The right products improve the condition of the scalp and ensure that your hair regains its health and shine. A great product is Moroccanoilwhich contains argan oil, which revitalizes the hair, as well as lavender and geranium oils, which soothe and have antiseptic properties, especially useful for this skin type.
