Practically all of us are familiar with the problem of fly-away hair. In spite of care, frizzy hair is hard to manage and feels rough to the touch. To prevent frizzy hair you should definitely check out our tips for a beautiful hairstyle

1. Oiling

It is always a good idea to use unrefined oils both after and before shampooing your hair. They make your hair smoother and close the cuticles. They will help with hair that is damaged by styling or colouring. Apply oil to the scalp and to the ends, which are often split and need to be rebuilt. If your hair is very overburdened and additionally tends to be oily, then apply the product only to the ends of your hair. Keep the oil on your head for at least half an hour before shampooing. Then shampoo your hair twice without using a conditioner. Allow your hair to dry naturally and comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb.

Before applying the oil, you can warm it slightly so that its application becomes easier.

Recommended hair oils are:

  • jojoba oil,
  • sweet almond oil,
  • sesame oil,
  • pumpkin seed oil.

2. Homemade Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse

Vinegar was used in cosmetics by our grandmothers. The acidity of the vinegar rinse closes the hair cuticles and makes them less frizzy. The rinse is made with one part vinegar and six parts water. Apply the vinegar rinse to your scalp and hair after shampooing. Do not wash your hair later so that the vinegar can work on the cuticles.

Interestingly, apple cider vinegar works great for color-treated hair so that the color lasts longer

3. A silk pillow instead of a cotton pillow

A good way to treat frizzy hair is to sleep on a silk pillow. A silk pillow not only keeps the hair nice and cool but also prevents irritation of the hair cuticles. The strands of hair “glide” over the silk material without static electricity and the frizzy effect disappears.

4. Conditioner after every shampoo

Use a moisturizing conditioner after every shampoo. This will close the cuticles of your hair. Be sure to choose well-proven hair products, which do not overload your hair and leave it smooth.

5. Blow Dry Your Hair with a Cold Airflow

Blow-drying your hair should be a last resort. However, if you need to dry your hair quickly, it is best to use a cool stream of air. This will make your hair smoother and prevent split ends. The direction in which you blow-dry your hair is also important. The blow dryer should be positioned at least 15 cm away from your hair with the air stream downwards to close the cuticles. This will keep your hair looking shiny and frizz-free!

What can be done to prevent fly-away hair?

Frequent styling, colouring and backcombing leave your hair frizzy. Unfortunately, the hair is unruly and difficult to style. Partial abstinence from colouring your hair will help to rebuild the structure of your hair. It is a good idea to color your hair in natural colours and to use conditioners after the colouring treatment. If you absolutely must style your hair, use a round brush. You can also choose special combs made of natural materials. Plastic ones make your hair static. Invest in a hair dryer that ionizes your hair. The ions will make your hair smoother.

You can nourish your hair by taking special supplements. Zinc, iron and field horsetail will make your hair much smoother and your hair stronger. Also, do not forget about proper hydration – drink at least 2 liters of water a day.
